Spectrum

Overall:
Service:
Pricing:
Speed:

Kelly B | 02-16-2023

Spectrum now considers itself to be a "monthly subscription service" so, when you disconnect your service, they will not prorate the price of your final month. For example, if your billing period ends on the 1st of the month and you call to disconnect your service as of the 2nd of the month, they will force you to pay for 29 more days of service through the next billing period's end date. This policy is greedy and ridiculous for the following reasons: - A true subscription service can be used anywhere. Spectrum cannot be used anywhere as many addresses do not have access to Spectrum. If I move, I can take Netflix (a true subscription service) anywhere on the globe. I cannot do that with Spectrum service so it is not MY fault that I have to disconnect. -A true subscription service can be disconnected right from your phone/computer. Spectrum requires customers to call in and wait on hold for outrageous amounts of time in order to speak to a Spectrum Rep to disconnect. That Spectrum Rep pressures and hard-sells you not to disconnect or to purchase additional Spectrum products. If Spectrum wants to be so greedy, they should make it possible to disconnect with just the click of a button online, like Netflix and YouTubeTV do. -I waiting on hold to disconnect my Spectrum service for 25 minutes yesterday. I ended up having to hang up to take care of my job so I called back to Spectrum today to disconnect. That one-day delay which was prompted by Spectrum's long wait time to talk to a Rep to disconnect is going to cost me an additional $200 for an extra month of service for an address that I no longer live at!! From now on, I will refuse to connect Spectrum service anywhere that I live.
