Connecticut FAQs

What is a good internet speed?

A good internet speed is 100Mbps per person. We get that number based on a household of five using a 500Mbps cable internet plan with ease. But you may only need a little speed, especially if all you do online is browse websites occasionally and check your email. Our 100Mbps-per-person estimate ensures everyone has enough bandwidth to stream movies and download console games quickly without buffering and slowdowns.

What are the best internet providers in Connecticut?

T-Mobile takes the top spot for overall customer satisfaction in our latest survey. In fact, it ranks the highest in three out of five categories and only falls one notch in speed and reliability satisfaction. The customers have spoken, and T-Mobile's fixed wireless internet can't be beat.

Xfinity reigns as the speed satisfaction king in our survey, while Verizon earns the top spot for reliability. Optimum ranks in the bottom half of every category—rock bottom out of 15 providers for customer service and price satisfaction. Meanwhile, Frontier ranks slightly better than Optimum except in speed satisfaction, where Optimum pulls ahead by just a smidge.
