Columbia Residential Internet Coverage

The city of Columbia in South Carolina serves millions of residents, tourists, and employees, which is why reliable internet service is so crucial.

Those who prefer the reliability of DSL can choose AT&T, a provider with a large service area that reaches almost all of Columbia. Northern communities in this city are Forest Hills, Heathwood, and Arcadia Lakes. Southern communities include Springdale and St. Andrews. Time Warner Cable, known for its national coverage map, offers high-speed cable to all of Columbia.

In addition to the neighborhoods listed above, Time Warner Cable is available in Melrose Heights, Shandon, Seven Oaks, and Forest Acres.

The university community of Columbia is covered by both Time Warner Cable and AT&T, ensuring that students and professionals have high-speed internet options. As AT&T starts to develop its fiber network, highly populated parts of Columbia may be first to get fiber installed.

DSL:

DSL provides internet service via phone cables and is up to ten times faster than dial-up service.

Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Satellite:

Satellite internet is widely available, but offers slower speeds due to a far-traveling signal.

Fiber:

Fiber relies on glass strands to relay digital code and is much faster than both DSL and cable.

Had issues with rep not doing her job correctly and wasted a ton of my time. Escalated it and their attitude was very insensitive and almost as if they felt like they were better than me. Unapologetic and didn't value my time. Welcome to the times. For my trouble I got a 15 dollar credit. Whoopee

The speed of AT&T DSL is lacking, especially considering the cost. I get 6MB which is nowhere near fast enough without going business class. It should be much faster.
